About Us

Rooted in Science

I hold a Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology from Grove City College in addition to a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Shenandoah University.  I completed my Master of Science in Nursing from Shenandoah in 2009 then gained licensure as a Nurse Practitioner and Certified Nurse-Midwife. I am credentialed by the Nutritional Therapy Association.  Additionally, I have training through the Institute For Functional Medicine, the North American Menopause Society, and the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine. I believe that wholistic, integrative care joins the best of both Western medicine and functional medicine training together.

Blended with Integrative Therapies

Nutrition and healthful living have always been a love of mine.  As a child, my grandmother and I followed along with yoga cassette tapes on her bedroom floor and I began working at my local natural food store at age 15.  I completed my degree in molecular biology then began studies in naturopathic medicine at Bastyr University.  During my coursework, however, I discovered midwifery and my career took a life-changing turn.  My love for science and wholistic care for women found its home.  I rerouted to Virginia to complete my midwifery education, all the while getting married and starting my family.  My first decade as a midwife was accompanied by much breastfeeding, diapering, gardening, homeschooling, and preparing meals and herbal remedies for my family of six.  Midwifery honed my skills and grew my passion for well-woman and gynecologic care. As my children grew and as I saw an increasing need improve the healthcare system, I desired to open my own clinic combining functional medicine with women’s health care.

Committed to the Art of Caring for Women

My privilege as a midwife is to listen to and educate women.  I am committed to creating an experience that is tailored to each woman’s personal preferences and health needs. I strive to provide compassionate, expert care and I enjoy forming partnerships with women to make important decisions from adolescence through menopause and beyond.  Midwives are fierce advocates for women and my midwife sisters are some of the most brave, bold, and interesting women I know.  Daily, we advocate for the needs of women and families and work to improve our healthcare system so it effectively serves our community.  Now, having served as a midwife within my Loudoun community for years, I look forward to the new adventure ahead and to partnering with you to improve your health from the roots up.
